FAQ: The Kite Photo and Video Contest

If you need support, check out this FAQ where you’ll find all the essential information you need.

1. I can’t find the upload frame on the “Upload Your Work Here” page. What should I do?

If you’re unable to see the upload box, try refreshing the page. Once refreshed, you should be able to see the “Click here to upload your file(s)” box.

2. Can I upload more than one image in a single category?

Yes, but don’t use the same image in more than one category. You don’t have to upload them one by one. Just click each time on the upload box without clicking on “send” right away.

3. My photo file is larger than 50 MB. What should I do?

If your file exceeds the 50 MB limit, it could be due to a high dpi setting (above 72). To reduce the file size, try the following:
* Use graphic software (like Affinity or other tools) to set the dpi to 72, which will help lower the file size. Reducing the dpi will also adjust the image size accordingly. So be sure to check the dimensions.
* The maximum dimension per image is 4096 x 4096 pixels.
* Alternatively, resize your image, but make sure it remains larger than 720 x 720 pixels.

4. My video is larger than 225 MB. What can I do?

If your video file exceeds the 225 MB limit, reduce the dimensions. Try the following:
* Use video software (like Handbrake (free), Davici Resolve (free version) or Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) to set it to 1920×1080 which will helps to lower the file size. Reducing the bitrate will also adjust the size.

5. I can’t find my gallery. What should I do?

1. Make sure you are logged in to your account.
2. Navigate to the “Upload Your Work Here” page.
If you don’t see your gallery right away, try refreshing the page. Sometimes, after uploading your work, your gallery might not appear immediately. Refreshing the page should make it visible.

To remove a file, go to your gallery overview. From there, you can easily delete the file you no longer want.

If your issue isn’t addressed in the FAQs above, feel free to contact me directly for further assistance. Please note that the contest is international, and different time zones may cause a delay in my response.

15. What software did I use to setup this contest?

Finding contest software that met my specific needs was a real challenge. I was looking for something that offered full control, extensive customisation, and affordability—a combination that seemed nearly impossible to find. After a long and frustrating search, I finally discovered “Contest Gallery” (link).
For me, great software is only as good as the support behind it, and the helpdesk exceeded my expectations. It’s been a game-changer for my contests and definitely worth trying out! Just to clarify, I’m not being paid for this review.
